Only Comes With Time

 My waking and sleeping hours

are all simply just the same, 

I spend them thinking of you 

each and every day.

I hold onto the moments

that bring the most amount of joy,

relieving each and everyone 

the images cannot be destroyed.

Grateful for the experience 

of a time so long ago, 

a life preserver I hold on to

and just can't let go.

Gazing at the night stars

that shine down on you and me,

it brings with it a reminder

till the end is near,

the story was written

when a heart dared to care.

I looked on back 

at the choices that were made

and the sorrow swept over me

like a fog filled gray day. 

Should there be heartache 

and tears that don't stop

or should I file them away

under the title " I've lost"?

I find myself thinking of you

hoping your life brings joy thru,

from the first day you said hello, 

I couldn't ever let you go.

Words can be meaningless it's true

except for the ones that the soul writes of you,

the expression of emotion written in the clouds

directed my heart as I fell in love with you.

The Wind

 I felt the wind as it dipped down

and it made a loud roaring sound,

it woke something from deep inside

 as thoughts of you toyed with my mind.

Brushing up against my cheek 

my knees quivered as they became weak,

for just one quick moment in time 

I had you in these arms of mine. 

Afraid to open my eyes 

to find the dreams were built on lies, 

you were never and I wondered 

if you ever cared. 

The days are quickly passing by 

and I felt I wasted a lot of time, 

wishing that you felt the same 

and hoping we would share just 

one day.

You never ever said goodbye

just got up and left myside, 

all that is left is foolish dreams

that bring you close to me.
