You

Just me and the cobwebs and the dog by my side,
listening to the raindrops as a storm rolls on by.
Memories of yesterday were filed conveniently
for the right moment when the heart is in need.

No mountains nor rivers or wild raging streams,
the barriers of life are not quite so easy to be seen.
I can't move the clouds and the darkness away,
I tried but I couldn't make the memories fade.

Just me and the cobwebs and the dog by my side,
listening to the raindrops as a storm rolls on by.
Memories of yesterday were filed conveniently
for the right moment when the heart is in need.

Afraid  am I to open my eyes,
to open my eyes to the grey of the sky,
Tightly shut I control what I see and
what I see is the moment you came to me.

If my heart and mind believed as one,
my soul would be celebrating.

Audrey, your writings always touch my heart, very much!

Just read some of your most recent, they are all beautiful!
Felt a longing in this one.

May joy always encompass your days!
