March !st

The hands of a clock
the waves to the shore,
the beat of my heart
the begging for more.

Winter to spring,
summer to fall,
the seasons of life
return with a awe.

Moving forward,
no mercy nor plea.
Filing the memories,
once bound, now free.

Like the waves as they splash against the rock,
the energy within my heart embraces the love.
~
I went from hell,
to purgatory,
to heaven and
back to hell...heaven was definitely better.

I said my hello's and I said my goodbye's
and  I felt my heart laugh and I am sure
a few times it just broke down and died.

Time quickly passes on and a new
day reveals, the true meaning of love
and just how I  really feel.

Like the pages of a book and the new
day it brings, I felt like tearing out the
beginning and rewriting it all over again.

I'd start as a child and place you next to me,
so we could have the years that were always
meant to be.

Your soul entwined with mine, your heart
and mine as one as we walk hand in hand
and feel that special kind of love.

I'd be there when you are crying to wipe
the tears away and again when you are
smiling to share the happiness in each
day.

My hand upon your brow when you are
not feeling well and chicken soup and
a tender kiss to replace the blues.

I said my hello's and I said my goodbye's
and  I felt my heart laugh and I am sure
a few times it just broke down and died.

~
Surrounded by memories,
in the wall mirror a void,
a heart that tasted the honey
and felt the bitter winters hold.

The shame is in the direction
that the road of life led, as all
I ever wanted was your kiss
before I went to bed.
~

My hands folded in prayer,
like a sculpture of glass,
revealing the vulnerability
where dreams collapse.

I said my prayers and
grateful was I for I have
lived and loved day after
day.

I separated the darkness
from the light, brushing
away the sadness and
remembering your smile
so bright.

~

Pages of life,
yellow and old
crumble and fall
in a story untold.
