Intense

Trees go dormant and
songbirds migrate south,
preparation for the cold
is what winters about.

It started out raining
turned to a flurry or two,
the scenery gray where
once it was blue.

Toss on a sweater
let the season begin,
the thoughts of love
warm from within.

Battle the darkness
let the sunshine bright
through the smiles
the day is given light.

I know we can do it,
we'll make it through,
with hope and faith
and our hearts true.

Measure of laughter
throughout the day
somehow the intensity
doesn't sway.

Chapter upon chapter
a new day, a new hour,
a fifth season seems
to transpire.

With love in the heart
and a passionate soul
it's heaven on earth
as each day unfolds.
